A.I. Art Magazine

Project Overview

For my publication design class, we were tasked to create a book or magazine about a topic we took an interest in. I created a magazine titled, Studio. The semester that I worked on this magazine we saw a rise in the use of generative artificial intelligence. I used this opportunity to research how it continues to impact the landscape of the creative space. The design is inspired by Swiss design and combines modern imagery with studio art textures/layering.

Roles: Design, art direction, copywriter, researcher

I named the magazine Studio because it is intended to cover all topics ranging from art to design. This issue is specifically focusing on AI in the design field. Once I settled on my topic I created the mood board you see to the right. The geometric and layered design references the creative and collaborative nature of an art studio. The typeface I chose also alludes to ink stamps and texture that you would find in an art studio. Overall, the subtle texture combined with a clean geometric design creates a versatile art publication.

The Process

This semester long magazine project was completed in stages. I began by researching different topics I am interested in and ultimately landed on the rise of AI. This magazine was completed before we started seeing the frequent use of AI in software such as Adobe. The intent of this magazine is to inform allow readers to develop their own opinion on the advancements.
